About the Artist

According to Roginsky, visual art, unlike literature and music, does not posses a time dimension. A picture is a frozen instant, yet it is possible to express the idea of time through artistic ways. The function of time in visual art is taken up by space. In her own work, by means of torn fragmentary composition, moving surfaces, offset plan and scale, she tries to express a ”flow of the consciousness".

Elena Roginsky received her MA degree in visual arts in Moscow, Russia. From 1991 to 1996 she lived in Jerusalem where she made my prints at the Print Workshop. In 1996 Roginsky moved to Toronto and started working at Open Studio. She has been exhibiting prints in Russia, Israel, Canada and other countries. Her works are in public and private collections in Canada, Israel, Belgium, France and Russia.
