About the Artist

Drawing from the elements of the natural world, Christine Koch’s work looks at earth and sky, fire and ice, in equal measure. She is fascinated by the geology of mountainous northern terrains, and by the processes that sculpted these sometimes-extreme environments. Much of her recent work also deals with darkness, with the poetry of the night, and with celestial phenomena. In her mixed-media relief prints she combines her love of dramatic landscape with the beauty and mystery of the nocturnal.
