Dan Steeves is a Sackville based artist who graduated from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Steeves received the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award, a New Brunswick Strathbutler Award for excellence in the arts, and first place in Open Studio’s National Printmaking Award. He has been elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. He has participated in numerous public exhibitions across Canada and in the United States, as well as several countries throughout Asia, Europe and the Ukraine. His work is represented in the Canada Council and New Brunswick Art Banks and numerous other public, institutional and private collections.

He recently worked with guest curator Tom Smart on a solo exhibition, The Memory of Pain, at the Confederation Centre of the Arts and a folio suite of images and text, The Mutability of Knowing, with Andrew Steeves of the Gaspereau Press. He was the featured artist in the Devil’s Artisan Journal 73 of the Printing Arts. In this journal, Tom Smart contributed ‘Dan Steeves: What Lies Unseen’, an illustrated examination of his work and career.
